Chainmaille Necklace - By the Sea - Fluorite, Topaz, Peridot, Iolite - Sterling Silver
There was over a foot of snow outside when I made this necklace. These colors remind me of how much I'd rather be sitting under a palm tree right now either making jewelry or getting ready for another swim. These are high quality, clean gemstones with beautiful color and cut - blue green fluorite, rich smoky blue London blue topaz, bright green peridot, and a smattering of iolite on the pendant. I made lots of balled headpins, wrapped each stone, then wove some Jens Pind chain maille segments to display the stones. I came up with this style of pendant in a tapered shape because I wanted something that would pick up on and enhance the diamond shape of the fluorite focal stones. I made the clasp because I wanted everything on this necklace to be handmade. It is adjustable from 18 to just over 19" (45.7 to 48.3 cm). I can add some more rings if you'd like more length. The pendant measures 2.5" (6.4 cm) from where it hooks into the necklace to the very bottom. It is 1" (2.5 cm) wide at it's widest. All metal is sterling silver.
