Vintage Mexican Silver Bracelet Earrings - Brito.
Brito was one of the vintage Mexican silver jewelry masters of mosaic inlay (azteca mosaica) , a technique developed by Chato Castillo at the Los Castillo workshop in the early 1940's. Soon after Taxco silver artist Margot married Antonio Castillo, we see the azurite mosaic technique in her work. And so, it evolves, with the use of other Mexican silver artisans in the 1940's and 1950's.
Brito created a a five panel inlaid modern circle and square design with azurite inlay.Look close and see the clever use of the design in an opposite arrangement on each panel. This matching set of bracelet and earrings was made before the Eagle registration system. The earrings are also marked E.Brito, Hecho en Mexico, 925. Each of the five panels is 35 cm x 20cm, making the braclet 175 cm long (7"). The earrings are 10cm x 20 cm.
