Vintage Mexican Silver Rope Necklace
Almost 8 ounces of sterling silver make up this heavy twisted rope Villasana silver necklace forty inches (102 cm) long. Our model, Shawnah, is shown wearing it as a long pendant. The tassels are two inches (5cm) long on each end, with rounded brushed metal tops. Notice the fine work on the collar of the tassels copied in the clasp. The clasp acts as a slider to adjust up or down.We think this was meant as a necklace, but is long enough to wear as a belt at the waist.
The mark is Eagle 3, Taxco, and what we believe to be Alfredo Villasana's name. Some of the letters are quite worn.
